Greg J. Burns
Gregory J. Burns, age 53, of Fort Wayne, IN, formerly of Janesville, WI died Friday, August 3, 2012, at home. He was born in Janesville on September 10, 1958, the son of Ronald and Doris (Lord) Burns and was a graduate of Janesville Parker High School. Greg worked for General Motors for 30 years before retiring in 2009. Greg was a caring and dedicated son, brother, uncle, and friend; always the first to volunteer to help with any project and the last person left working. Every interaction with Greg was marked by his great stories and his contagious laugh. Greg was an active member of the Free Masons and especially dedicated to volunteering for the Shriners at the Shrine Circus each year.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Doris and Allen Kuehne of Janesville; four siblings: Gary (Cynthia) Burns and James Burns of Milton, Joseph (Girlie) Burns of Las Vegas, NV, and Ronda (Dan) Bowe of Barneveld, WI; five step-siblings: Linda (Ed) Madison of Beloit, Tim Kuehne of Milwaukee, and Mary Kuehne, Tammy Kuehne, and Eric (Cathy) Kuehne, all of Janesville; eight nieces and nephews: Kari (Mark) Schuh, Derek Burns, Trevor Burns, Lucas Burns, Garett Burns, Danielle (David) Moyer, Alyssa Bowe, and Grant Bowe; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 10, 2012, at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY with Rev. Jerry Amstutz officiating. Burial will be in Hollandale, WI at a later date. Visitation will take place on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY.
