Greene hits grand slam, leads Fort Wayne to 8-7 win over Beloit

Marcus Greene hit a grand slam in the first inning, leading the Fort Wayne TinCaps to an 8-7 win over the Beloit Snappers Sunday.

Beloit drops to 12-17 on the second half of the season.

The grand slam by Greene scored Peter Van Gansen, Carlos Belen, and Brad Zunica to give the TinCaps a 4-0 lead.

Trailing 6-3, the Snappers cut into the deficit in the fourth inning when Jean Carlo Rodriguez hit a two-run home run.

The TinCaps later tacked on two runs in the eighth when Zunica and Alan Garcia hit solo home runs to secure the victory.

Fort Wayne starter Jacob Nix (2-4) picked up the win despite allowing five runs and seven hits over six innings.
