MADISON, Wis. – Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce President Zach Brandon responded to the extension of the Dane County mask mandate, effective Friday, Oct. 8 at 12:01 a.m.

“The fact that these orders continue to be extended indicates a complete lack of leadership from our local elected and government officials. We have heard no plan and no clear path forward – only vague reliance on a single CDC data point that treats every community equally, regardless of vaccination rate,” said Brandon in a release.

Brandon also thanked the community and local businesses for their participation in vaccination efforts.

“As of today, 90% of Dane County’s adult population has had at least one shot. We are one of the most vaccinated counties in the country, and we have supported that progress by encouraging vaccinations in our workforce,” said Brandon in a release.

The full order can be found here.
