Great Pumpkin Giveaway brings fun, money for Madison Reading Project

This was the 20th year of the event

FITCHBURG, Wis. — For the 20th year, Oak Bank held its Great Pumpkin Giveaway in Fitchburg Saturday.

Attendees could pick up a pumpkin in exchange for a donation to the Madison Reading Project.

There were activities for the kids, a bounce house, and horse and carriage rides. Even Bucky Badger made an appearance.

“The weather is perfect, the trees are turning, people come out from the community, they all just talk about how much they enjoy it,” event organizer Jim McNulty said. “It’s almost like a holiday on its own.”

The event is held each year, with proceeds benefiting a different charitable organization each year.
