Gravel wash plant strikes overpass, blocks interstate traffic on ramp
MADISON, Wis. — A crash on the ramp from Interstate 94 westbound to Interstate 39/90 eastbound has forced the closure of the ramp at the Badger interchange.
Wisconsin State Patrol said a local company was transporting a gravel wash plant at 7:52 a.m. when the oversized load struck the girders beneath the Highway 30 west ramp overpass.
Some adjustments to the height of the oversized load were necessary to safely remove the load. State Deaprtment of Transportation bridge inspectors also responded to the scene to inspect the structure for any damage.
State patrol said it appeared there is no structural damage to the overpass.
The crash was cleared at about 10:45 a.m., according to Wisconsin State Patrol.
