Gordon, Abdullah ready for RB showdown
Badgers, Cornhuskers play Saturday at Camp Randall
MADISON — Saturday’s Nebraska-Wisconsin football game at 2:30 pm at Camp Randall will feature two of the nation’s top running backs – the Cornuskers’ Ameer Abdullah and the Badgers’ Melvin Gordon.
Gordon leads the nation with 1501 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns.
Abdullah has 1250 yards and 17 touchdowns.
Wisconsin head coach Gary Andersen says he, like everyone else, is looking forward to the matchup.
“These are two young men that I’ve studied very closely with Abdullah this week – he’s a great running back, not a good running back and he’s an elite running back,” says Andersen.
“It’s going to be fun to watch them go head to head – I’m Melvin’s guy – Melvin’s in our corner so I think Melvin’s the best but Mr. Abdullah might be right behind.”
