Goodwill donation sites opened for move-out days
New sites will open temporarily for unwanted items
MADISON, Wis. — As Madison leases expire this month, Goodwill will offer donation sites for moving students and residents.
Together, Goodwill and environmentally-conscious student group REthink Wisconsin will supply donation carts from Aug. 10 to 14. Residents can donate unwanted clothing, footwear, household items, computer equipment, books and other items to Goodwill at these carts.
“Many times individuals who are moving don’t want to or can’t take some of their perfectly usable possessions with them,” said Maureen Roche, director of marketing and development for Goodwill Industries of South Central Wisconsin. “Now with the help of members of REthink Wisconsin, people can easily put these items to good use by donating them to Goodwill. The sale of these items will generate the revenue we need to provide life-changing services to individuals with disabilities and other challenges.”
Donation carts can be used by anyone and are stationed throughout Madison. Locations include Lucky, The Regent, The Highlander, Embassy, Equinox Apartments, Grand Central Apartments, Palisade Apartments, and the Pres House. Donations may also be taken to the Goodwill store at 651 State St. and other donation centers.
