Goodman Center asks for donations turkeys, cranberries, and canned fruit Thanksgiving Basket drive
MADISON, Wis. — The Goodman Community Center is just days away from distributing thousands of Thanksgiving baskets to families in need. The baskets are filled with everything one needs to make a delicious Thanksgiving meal and will help feed 22,000 people in the Madison area.
According to the post, the Goodman Community Center was short 500 turkeys for its 31st annual Thanksgiving Basket drive, but following switf donations the center’s food pantry coordinator, Sam McDaniel, said they are turning their focus to collexcting canned cranberies and fruit.
The center will also distribute 30,000 pounds of fresh vegatables as part of the basket program. The veggies come from a partnership with Second Harvest Foodbank and area farmers.
Baskets are set to be distributed Saturday through Monday.
