Gloria J. Jappert
JANESVILLE—Gloria J. Jappert, age 61, of Janesville, died Sunday, September 02, 2012, at the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center, Fitchburg. She was born in Woodman, WI, on May 17, 1951, the daughter of Harmon and Sarah (Tittle) Bunts and was a 1969 graduate of West Grant High School, Patch Grove. Gloria married Robert E. Jappert on May 23, 1970, in Prairie du Chien. They lived in Hastings, NE, prior to moving to Janesville in 1988. She retired from Woodman’s food markets in 2010 after 22 years. Gloria was a member of the Northern Illinois Outlaws Mounted Shooting Club and enjoyed photography, flowers, gardening, birds, decorating cakes and was a skilled seamstress.
She is survived by her husband, Bob; 2 children, Dawn Jappert and Ted Jappert both of Janesville; grandson, Cory Hanson of Janesville; special “adopted” grandkids: Austin, Cody, and Preston; siblings: Georgia Wepking of Madison, Caroline Wood of Verona, Bill (Sherry) Bunts and John (Pam) Bunts both of Woodman; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Leona McCartney, Henry Bunts Sr., Emery Bunts Sr. Jenny Dilley, Viola Gratz, Sally Weitzenkamp, Mickey Ann Bunts, and Katherine Wilkinson.
Memorial services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY, Janesville, with Jay LeRette officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery, Mt. Hope, WI at a later date. Visitation will take place on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
