MADISON – Gloria Ann Boda, age 90, passed peacefully away on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, at Agrace HospiceCare, surrounded by her family.

She was born on Nov. 15, 1926, in Elkhart, Ind., the daughter of Hector and Relindise (Wahlberg) Sack. Gloria attended high school in Mishawaka, Ind., graduating from Mishawaka High School in 1944. Upon graduation she was employed by Wheelbrator Company and U.S. Rubber Co. (now Uniroyal). She met her husband Robert Boda, who began working at U.S. Rubber also after receiving his business degree from Indiana University in 1959. They were married on June 9, 1961, and she followed her husband who transferred to the U.S. Rubber Plant in Stoughton. They resided in Madison for the next 50 years, with a short job location in Iowa. Upon returning from Iowa, Gloria was employed by American Family Insurance in Madison until her retirement in 1988.

She is survived by her husband; four children, Gregg (Julie) Kaiser, Chris (Bev) Boda, Debby (Rick) Mobley, and Becky (Mike) Hanneman; 12 grandchildren, Amanda, Travis, Angela, Lisa, Jacob, Chris, Jeff, James, Phil, Gregg, Eric, and Johanna; 22 great-grandchildren; and sister, Gwendolyn Brown, of Fort Meyers Beach, Fl. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Winston Sack; sister, Cynthia Sack; and grandson, Lee Grandt.

A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens.

She endured pain for many years from a severe episode of shingles and scoliosis, but maintained her dignity and grace. Although small in stature, she was a giant pillar of strength for her husband and loved ones. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her and loved her throughout her 90 years.

The family would like to thank her doctors and nurses at St. Mary’s Hospital and to the staff at Agrace HospiceCare for their caring service. Gloria is at peace now, free of her earthly ills.
