Glenn Michael Brookhyser
Mazomanie –Glenn M. Brookhyser, age 65, died on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on October 26, 1948 in Wausau, WI, the son of Angus “Curly” and Josephine (Habrich) Brookhyser. He graduated Athens High School in 1966. Glenn Proudly served in the United States Army in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971. He was united in marriage to Debra Barfknecht on November 3, 1984 at St. Andrew Evangelical Lutheran Church in Middleton. He worked for many years as an IT Programmer/Analyst until his retirement. Glenn had a zest for life! He would rather be fishing in Canada than anywhere else. He also enjoyed scuba diving, traveling, boating, flea markets, Bacardi and socializing with friends. He loved his home on the WI River and his dog T-bone. He was a member of the Eagles Club in Wausau and the VFW Post #8527 in Athens, WI.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Deb; his daughters, Jacqueline (Keith) Juedes and Janelle (Valerie Haneckow) Fortier; son, Michael (Wanda) Brookhyser; 6 grandchildren; siblings: Karen, Wendell (Sue) and Karl Brookhyser and Gretchen Townsend; and 4 nieces and 3 nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bernard Brookhyser.
The family would like to thank the staffs at Dean Health Oncology and Chemotherapy Clinic and Agrace HospiceCare.
A celebration of life will be held for Glenn at a later date.
