Girl Scouts make a special delivery
SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. — The time to purchase Girl Scout cookies is quickly coming to an end, and Wednesday local girls made a big donation just before they disappear.
Dane County Girl Scouts donated 281 boxes of cookies to Sun Prairie’s Sunshine Place Food Pantry as part of the Cookie Share program.
Dane County Dairy Promotions Committee joined in and donated a gallon of milk for every box of cookies.
“We are really fortunate that so many people in our community are really generous with money, food, their time and their voice,” said Dan Stein, Second Harvest Food Bank president and CEO. “It’s really refreshing to see young people get involved also.”
The Cookie Share program encourages girls to invite their cookie customers to make a donation to an organization in need.
