Get lured to Lodi by Fitz’s on the Lake
Sink your fork into the filet with bacon and blue cheese (front), or the pan-fried walleye (right). For lunch, get your hands on the triple decker club sandwich (back).

Summer in Wisconsin must include a trip to the lake and dining at a lakeside supper club. Fitz’s fits the bill. Like the nearby Merrimac Ferry, it’s gratifyingly outdated and rustic. Both the dining room and outside deck provide panoramas worth the trip. You won’t find any surprises on the menu–just comfortable favorites prepared with pride and served with a smile. The soup is homemade, the salad bar plentiful and the hash browns praiseworthy. Besides the mandatory Friday fish fry, Saturday prime rib and Sunday brunch, there are weeknight specials. Held in mid-August, the Corn Boil is now a much-anticipated summer ritual.
