Gerrit G. Haima
Gerrit G. Haima of Mauston passed away February 28, 2017 at Fair View Nursing Home, Mauston.
He was born June `18, 1931 and lived all of his life in Wisconsin and now in his heavenly home.
He served in the Korean Conflict, where he flew flights to Japan. After service he returned to Waupun, Wisconsin. After the service he applied for a job in the prison system and worked as a security guard for 31 years. After retirement he moved to Mauston and lived there for 31 years. Gerrit loved sports and would watch anything that used a ball. He was a very good bowler. He cheered for the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers. Every summer he was on the golf course chasing the white ball. He was attended St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mauston and was an active in many of services. He served for Meals on Wheels for many years. It was an important part of his life.
He and his first wife had 2 daughters Kathie Carey of St. Francis, WI and Susan (Jamie) Fiebig of Fond du Lac, WI. Susan has three sons Joel, Ben, and Michael Ciske and three grandchildren
He married Dorothy on October 2, 2001 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Gerrit is survived by his wife Dorothy, his daughters Kathie and Susan, his grandsons and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother Wally and Henry, and parents and other relatives.
Thank you Sr. David Hoffmann for excellent care you gave him and all the staff at Fair View who waited on him, you lighten the load.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 6, 2017 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mauston. Friends may call on Sunday, March 5th from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Crandall Funeral Home, Mauston and Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
