Geraldine ‘Cherry’ Roach

Geraldine “Cherry” Roach, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 22 at Pine Villa in Prairie du Sac, WI.

She grew up and spent most of her life in Cazenovia, WI. She was born on May 19,1925 at home near German Town, WI. She graduated from Cazenovia High School in 1941 when she was 16 years old. She was married on July 26, 1945 to Donald Roach who preceded her in death in 1987. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Elmer, in 2000.

In 1959 she went to work at Weston High School in Cazenovia as bookkeeper and secretary. She retired in 1999 after 40 years. She moved to Prairie du Sac, WI in 2001 to be closer to some of her children. She had four children.

Son Thomas Roach and his wife, Shirley (Dohertry) who live in McHenry, IL. Daughter Linda Elfers and her husband Richard who live in Waukesha, WI. Daughter Patti Kaderavek and her husband Lon who live in Prairie du Sac, WI. Son Terrence Roach and his wife Mary (Koenig) who live in Mazomanie, WI. She is also survived by a brother Ronald Jasper and his wife Janet and by nieces and their families.

Cherry loved her children and made sure that they all went to college. She is survived by eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Her brother and sister-in-law, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren will miss her very much. She is also survived by her dog Joey who already really misses her. Cherry had a love for dogs her whole life.

From November 2013 until she passed she lived at the PineVilla Memory Care Unit in Prairie du Sac, WI. The employees at Pine Villa became part of her family and they treated her like a mother. The family cannot say enough about the employees at PineVilla. Thank-you very much. You are all special people.

Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 27, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Prairie du Sac, WI with Pastor Fred Rilling officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church on Friday. There will be a lunch served after the service at St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Memorials can be made in her name to the Sauk County Humane Society 618 Sth 136 P.O. Box 257, Baraboo, WI 53913 or to StJohn’s Lutheran Church in Prairie du Sac.
