MADISON-Gerald “Jerry” Simon, age 79, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2012 at Agrace HospiceCare in Madison. He was born on August 10, 1933, in Martinsville, the son of Herman and Sally (Endres) Simon. Jerry had a variety of interests including all sports, hunting and fishing and truly loved to cook for his family and friends. He worked together with his father at H. F. Simon & Son Builders, where he helped to build many buildings, schools and city halls around the Madison and Middleton area, one of which was St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Middleton. Jerry was a superintendent at Findorf Construction for 30 years.
He is survived by his five children, Tim Simon, Mike Simon, Tom Simon, Margie (Lonnie)Wilson and Sue (Steve) Dunbar; five grandchildren, Shanna, John, Mandy, Debbie and Eiljah; a special friend, Marci Himes and four sisters that he stayed very close to, Marjorie (Bill) Sawyer, Luana Kalscheur, Louise Oasen, and Janet (Wayne) Esser. Jerry is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Jack, wife Mariann, wife Arlene and brothers-in-law, Don Kalscheur, John Oasen, Vic Adler and Tom Yocum.
Memorial services will be held at ST. BERNARD’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7450 University Ave, Middleton at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 27, 2012 with Monsignor Douglas Dushack presiding. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at the church.
