Georgean L. Banker
Georgean L. Banker, 85, of Fort Atkinson, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014 at Golden Living Center.
Georgean was born on November 18, 1928 in Ladysmith to the late Wesley and Evelyn (Petan) Stoker. She married Norman Jenson on May 12, 1950 in Stillwater, MN. He preceded her in death on March 1, 1977. She then married Leo Banker on September 15, 1979 in Edgerton. He preceded her in death on August 3, 1989.
She had worked for many years at Piggly Wiggly and at Vos Sentry Foods in Fort Atkinson. Georgean was a member of both the American Legion and VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a past member of Blackhawk Chapter #39 of the DAV.
She loved to knit and would make winter hats for troops in Afghanistan, lap blankets for VA Hospitals, baby hats for newborns at Fort Healthcare and hats for chemo patients. Her craftwork is enjoyed in homes across Wisconsin.
Georgean is survived by her sons, James Jenson of Fort Atkinson and Mike Jenson of Beloit; daughter, Mary (Walt) Davies of Fort Atkinson; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Amanda and Ethan Davies; sisters, Kay Woods and Shirley Hraban; brother, Vern Stoker; special friend of many years, Carol Topel and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her son, Norman Jenson; brother, Alan Stoker; daughter-in-law, Pat Jenson; brothers-in-law, Ken Woods and Ray Hraban and nephew, Terry Woods.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. on Friday at the church until time of service. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
