George Leroy Yager
George Henry Yager, born July 8, 1936 to Severnus and Helen (Wiest) Yager. He passed away from a short illness on Friday, January 19th, at Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville.
George farmed most of his life except for some time spent working for Tri-Star Pallets. He went on many Tri-State trips with his mother to Nashville and enjoyed the country western music. Football on Sunday afternoons was one of his greatest joys. Throughout his life, George overcame many challenges.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Darlene Thompson, Leo and Donna Yager, Louis Yager, Thomas Yager, Joan Adas and Rita and Jim Skala and brothers-in-law, Vernon Forseth and Walter Ast.
George is survived by brothers, Ted (Deedee) Yager of Highland and Bill Yager of Madison; sisters, Mary Forseth of Dodgeville; Doris Ast of Waunakee and Grace (Don) Hasburgh of Highland; brothers-in-law George Thompson of Davenport FL and Tom Adas of Lady Lake FL; a sister-in-law, Suzette Yager of Mineral Point as well as many nieces and nephews and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Ss. Anthony & Philip Catholic Church in Highland. Fr. Jim Murphy will officiate with burial in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday after 10:00 A.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Ss. Anthony & Philip Catholic Church would be appreciated.
