Gas station clerk injured during robbery; Suspected robber caught
BELOIT, Wis. — A man suspected of robbing a Rock County gas station Sunday night was taken into custody, police said.
The Beloit Police Department said officers responded to a report of a robbery at the Mobil Mart on Milwaukee Road at 6:30 p.m.
According to the report, the clerk suffered a minor injury during the robbery. The robber took an undisclosed amount of money from the clerk and left the store on foot.
A witness told police a person was seen running toward a hotel in the 2700 block of Milwaukee Road. Officers arrived at the hotel and found 32-year-old Nicholas Haiman, of Rockford, Illinois, with the money taken from the robbery.
Haiman was taken to the Rock County Jail and charged on suspicion of armed robbery.
