Gary L. Womack, 54, of Platteville died on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Southwest Health Center, Platteville, of an apparent heart attack. A Celebration of Life will be at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Gary was born on May 3, 1963 in Racine, Wisconsin, son of Charles and Carol (Greiner) Womack. He was united in marriage to Lisa Redfearn on July 25, 1981 at the Lutheran Church of Peace, Platteville. Gary worked at Jeff’s Mini Mart as a mechanic and later became a long haul truck driver for over 15 years. He owned and operated G & L Trucking, Platteville. Gary was a “jack of all trades” where he would fix and work on just about anything. He enjoyed working on cars, his 1972 Chevelle, and always a good conversation with anyone; he could make a friend anywhere he went. He was a member of the Southwest Auto Club, where he was currently serving as vice-president, and was a member of Southwest Wisconsin Kingpins.
Gary is survived by his wife, Lisa; five children, Amber (Chris) Tipton, Blake (Amanda) Womack, Logan Womack, Zachary (Ashley Soderstrom) Womack, and Cassen Womack; 8 grandchildren, Haidyn, Izabella, Averi, Liberty, Brooklynn, Madilynn, Makenzie and Kolton; his mother, Carol Womack, and brothers, sisters, n
