Gamers brave long lines to get hands on PS5

The gaming consoles have only been sold online since their release

MADISON, Wis. — Long lines stretched out in front of Best Buy on Madison’s west side Thursday morning, as customers tried to get their hands on a new Playstation 5.

The gaming consoles have only been sold online since their release. Best Buy was finally able to sell them in stores Thursday.

One man waited in line for almost a day to get his.

“I’ve been waiting for about a year,” Ethan Fonck said. “As of right now I’ve been waiting since 8:30 yesterday (Wednesday) morning.”

A worldwide computer chip shortage has led to a shortage of the gaming console.
