Funeral for firefighter killed in crash set for this weekend in Lake Mills

The funeral for fire Capt. Chris Truman who was killed in a New Year’s Eve crash on the Beltline will be this weekend in Lake Mills.

Visitation will be at Lake Mills High School from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday. At 5 p.m., there will be an Emergency Services Fly-By. On Sunday, visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. at Lake Mills High School. The service will start at 3 p.m.

Truman was hit by a car Monday on the Beltline. He had exited his vehicle to help a woman who was stranded. Turfle said Truman often stopped to help stranded drivers.

The details for the funeral service were announced on the Lake Mills Fire Department Facebook page Wednesday.
