Frozen Assets Festival returning to Madison next month

MADISON, Wis. — The sixth annual Frozen Assets Festival will be back at the Edgewater and Lake Mendota on Feb. 8 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. for the whole family to enjoy.

Clean Lakes Alliance and other sponsors are set to host the free family-friendly activities throughout the day, and below are some activities that will take place:

  • S’mores roasting by CG Schmidt
  • Skydiving ice jumps with Seven Hills Skydiving
  • Kites on Mendota with Wisconsin Kiters Club
  • Snowshoeing courtesy of Rutabaga Paddlesports

The festival will also have scheduled activities throughout the fun-filled day, such as a performance from the Central Midwest Ballet at 10:30 a.m. to the Trinity Skating Club of Madison performance at 1:30 p.m.

The festival is also set to host a Frozen Assets 5k that will start on frozen Lake Mendota, heading towards Picnic Point and passing right by the Statue of Liberty on the ice at the Memorials Union Winter Carnival, according to Adam Sodersten, Marketing and Communications Director at Clean Lakes Alliance.
