Frederick Lee Cox
Frederick Lee Cox, age 33, of Madison, peacefully entered into eternal rest, surrounded by family, on Monday, December 22, 2014 at his home. Frederick was born on July 8, 1981, to Kenard Robinson and Brenda Cox in Memphis, TN. Fred, at the age of 12, moved to Madison in 1992 with his stepfather and mother. He graduated from La Follette High School in 2001. He enjoyed outings at the mall and spending time with family. He loved music, outdoor life, football, and was a Badger fan. Frederick is survived by his father, Kenard Robinson, of West Memphis, AK; his mother and stepfather, who raised him since the age of three, Tommy and Brenda (Cox) Phillips; three brothers, Christopher Cox, Philip (Tamara) Cox, and Tommy Phillips, Jr., all of Madison; a sister and brother-in-law, April (Dawayne) Clay of Madison; seven aunts; six uncles; six nieces; a step-niece; four nephews; one step-nephew; a host of cousins; his teacher, Rita Schwan-Zeier; and a special friend, Dr. Ademola Iyi-Eweka. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jonathan Cox; his maternal grandparents; an uncle, Willie Dean; an aunt, Diane Cox; and two cousins, Mack Dixon and Darrel Thomas. His memory will always be cherished by his family and friends. The family wishes to thank Fred’s doctor, Dr. Michael Weber, Agrace HospiceCare, all of the Field Street staff from REM Wisconsin, MARC-South, and Teamwork Associates, Inc., for the support and care given to our son, Fred. A Home-going celebration will be held in memory of Frederick at 12:30 p.m. on THURSDAY, JANUARY 8, 2014 at SECOND BAPTIST CHURCH, 4303 Britta Parkway, Madison with Reverend Anthony Wade officiating.
