Foxconn Days to bring job search to UW campus, students

Foxconn is currently recruiting for several hundred positions in Wisconsin. This week, they’re bringing that job search to the UW campus.

It’s the start of Foxconn Days: a two-day event for students, alumni, and the public to learn about the company and its career opportunities.

Oct. 18 and 19, Foxconn will pitch to students from all academic backgrounds at Engineering Hall. The students interested in working at Foxconn should bring their resumes to Foxconn Days either Thursday or Friday. There, they’ll learn about the jobs available in the Wisconn Valley Innovation Network, which includes positions in Mount Pleasant, Milwaukee, Eau Claire, Green Bay, and Racine.

Career opportunities cover a variety of areas and skill sets including human resources, hardware, software engineering, finance, and accounting.

In addition to careers, people can learn more about Foxconn’s vision for its upcoming expansion in the state, including research collaborations between Foxconn and the UW campus.

Another topic UW students will learn about during the two-day event: Foxconn’s salary and benefits.

Full-time employees at Foxconn will average $25.90 an hour, or almost $54,000 a year, officials with the company have said.

The company will pay 100% of individual health insurance including dental and vision coverage, and 50% of family insurance, according to the review. Employees will get 10 holidays per year, life insurance and a 401(k) plan.
