Fourth person sentenced in counterfeit bill scheme
MADISON, Wis. — A fourth person has been sentenced for using counterfeit currency at numerous southern Wisconsin merchants.
Dominique Gaunichaux, 19, of Madison, will spend eight months in federal prison followed by two years of supervised release after pleading guilty in January to using fake $100 bills at restaurants and stores in cities across southern Wisconsin, according to a spokesperson for acting U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin Jeffrey Anderson.
Gaunichaux will also be required to pay $7,500 in restitution, along with his four other co-defendants.
The quintet were arrested in February 2016 after using the fake bills at several stores in Janesville . Three other people involved in the crimes were sentenced in February, while the last person is scheduled to be sentenced April 28.
