Four teens arrested in stolen SUV Sunday afternoon
Madison police caught the teens during a traffic stop
Four teens were taken to the Juvenile Reception Center on Sunday afternoon after officers found them inside a stolen SUV, according to an incident report by Madison Police Department spokesman Joel DeSpain.
The report explains that the Honda CRV was seen by police speeding on the West Beltline Highway. Though officers did not pursue the speeding vehicle, they spotted it again later on Raymond Road.
The 15-year-old driver stopped at a red light intersection at McKenna Boulevard and Raymond Road. Officers “were able to safely take the teens into custody.”
The driver was arrested on suspicion of operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent, fleeing and eluding officers. A 14-year-old boy and two other 13-year-old boys are tentatively charged with being passengers in a stolen vehicle.
