Forward Madison FC to take on UW-Madison men’s team in exhibition game
MADISON, Wis. — Forward Madison FC announced Wednesday it will host the UW-Madison men’s soccer team for an exhibition game on Wednesday, April 15 at 7 p.m.
“Having our professional club and the city’s top college team get together shows that we’re committed to building a soccer culture in Madison,” FMFC head coach Daryl Shore said. “This city has demonstrated that it’s passionate about the sport, so we’re giving them a night to enjoy top-level soccer at its best.”
According to Shore, the exhibition match is another attempt from FMFC to continue to promote soccer in the Madison community. This year’s game marks the third meeting between the two teams. Forward Madison beat UW-Madison 2-0 in the Flamingos’ first game at Breese Stevens Field. The teams matched up again in a scrimmage in August.
“This is a tremendous opportunity for our players to see how they stack up against professional players,” UW-Madison head coach John Trask said.
The Battle for Madison exhibition game is included in Forward Madison season ticket packages. Individual game tickets go on sale in early March.
