Fort Atkinson PD investigates local pastor for stealing church funds
FORT ATKINSON, Wis. — A longtime pastor in Fort Atkinson is at the center of a criminal investigation.
Fort Atkinson police confirm that they’ve arrested Bryan Engfer. An investigation into Engfer began on July 11 following allegations that he embezzled church funds from Trinity Lutheran Church.

Engfer was the senior pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church. The South Central Synod of Wisconsin, which oversees Trinity Lutheran confirms to News 3 that Engfer is no longer with the church.
Engfer is not currently in custody, but police say the investigation is still active. The Jefferson County District Attorney’s office is currently reviewing the case.
News 3’s requests for comment from Engfer, Trinity Lutheran, and the South Central Synod’s bishop were not immediately returned.
