Former Packers coach Kevin Greene dead at 58
GREEN BAY, Wis. — Former NFL player and Packers assistant coach Kevin Greene has died at age 58, the Pro Football Hall of Fame announced Monday.
Greene played with several teams during his 15 seasons in the NFL and led the league in sacks twice. He was also awarded Defensive Player of the Year in 1996.
Greene later went into coaching after retiring as a player in 1999. He became Green Bay’s outside linebackers coach in 2009 and spent four years with the Packers.
Greene helped lead the team to a win against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLV and worked closely with former Packer Clay Matthews.
He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2016.
