Former Boys & Girls Club CEO Michael Johnson to leave new CEO job, move back to Madison
MADISON, Wis. — The former CEO of the Dane County Boys & Girls Club, Michael Johnson, is moving back to Madison, according to a post on his Facebook page.
United Way and Johnson jointly announced that he will be stepping down as CEO of the United Way of Greater Cincinnati after an issue was resolved.
“Thank you Cincinnati for making me uncomfortable,” Johnson said in the Facebook post. “This is what leadership is all about and I believe my time here will help address some of the underlying challenges the region faces.”
Johnson took the job in July and is the first African-American to serve as CEO, officials said. He took a leave of absence from his current position Tuesday.
A news release from Johnson’s attorneys said he is leaving United Way on friendly terms.
Johnson will be moving back to Madison after spending another month in Cincinnati. According to the post, he will share his future plans soon.
