Former Badger Leonhard still looking for NFL job
Safety recovering from serious knee injury
MADISON, Wis. —NFL training camps begin next week and some veterans are still looking for jobs.
One of those veterans is former badger Jim Leonhard. He held his annual football skills camp at Flambeau High School in Tony, Wisconsin.
But despite his free agent status coming off a serious knee injury, Leonhard is still pretty optimistic about his future in the NFL.
“Hopefully in the next couple week, get some workouts and get a contract,” said Leonhard. “The knee is feeling great — I’m ready to go and getting antsy.”
“Football’s right around the corner and I don’t have a team, so I’m kinda getting antsy to get back on that field,” said Leonhard. “You just keep working, keep grinding and good things are going to happen.. I know I’m going to play football somewhere this season– just have to figure out where.”
Most training camps open up around the league next week.
