Former Badger Jonathan Taylor named AFC Player of the Month
INDIANAPOLIS — Former Wisconsin Badgers running back Jonathan Taylor’s second year in the NFL has gotten off to a big start, and it’s earning him some recognition from the league.
Taylor was announced as the AFC Offensive Player of the Month for October after running for 478 yards, catching 13 passes for 195 yards, and scoring 7 total touchdowns in the month.
Taylor ranks second in the NFL in rushing yards so far this season, running for a total of 649 yards. Only Tennessee’s Derrick Henry, who racked up 937 yards before suffering a season-ending injury last weekend, had more.
Taylor also has the longest run in the NFL so far this year, with an 83-yard run against the Houston Texans on October 17th.
Taylor was drafted in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft after running for 6,174 yards in four years at Wisconsin. He ran for 1169 yards and 11 touchdowns while adding 299 yards receiving during his rookie season with the Colts last year.
