Florence C. Mikulik
Florence C. Mikulik, age 83, of Avoca died on Monday, February 24, 2014 at Greenway Manor in Spring Green.
Florence was born January 20, 1931 in rural Avoca, the daughter of Albert and Frances (Geiter) Suda. She worked at the Boscobel Nursing Home and at O’Bryan’s in Richland Center. Florence and George Mikulik were united in marriage May 24, 1975 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Avoca. He preceded her in death in 2000. Florence loved playing cards with friends and family. She also enjoyed chocolates, flower gardening, her Pomeranian ‘Harry’, and baking favorite treats for her husband ‘Cookie’. Florence was a member of the Altar Society, the Catholic Foresters, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include: Her sister Alice (Gerald) Bomkamp of Highland. Nieces and nephews: Terry (Teresa) Bomkamp of Highland, Tim Bomkamp of Highland, Tom (Nancy) Bomkamp of Highland, Laurie (Greg) Zimmerman of Mineral Point, Mary (Jim) Yager of Highland, Sue (Tom) Yanna of Highland, Pam (Rob) Heen of Urbandale, Iowa, Pat (Bill) Shappener of Belmont, Deborah (Lawrence) Owens of Sauk City, Michael (Diane) Raizin of North Freedom, many grand nieces and grand nephews.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; two brothers: John and Albert ‘Junior’; three sisters: Anna Malter, Eleanor Stoltz and an infant; and her niece Amy Bomkamp.
A Funeral Mass for Florence Mikulik will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at ST. JOSEPH’S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Avoca. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery next to her beloved Cookie. Visitation will be held at the GODAGER PRAT
