Fitchburg police looking for strong-armed robber with scar on his right cheek
Victim was walking down Smithfield Drive when person grabbed purse
FITCHBURG, Wis. — Fitchburg police are looking for someone who allegedly jumped out of an SUV early Thursday morning and grabbed a woman’s purse.
The incident happened near the corner of Smithfield Drive and Williamsburg Way around 1 a.m. Thursday.
According to police, a person was walking down Smithfield when a silver SUV pulled up next to them. A man jumped out of the SUV, pushed the victim, grabbed the victim’s purse before running back to the SUV and taking off westbound on Williamsburg Way.
Police said they are looking for a black man in his 30s with a scar on his right cheek and facial hair. The man was last seen wearing a dark jacket or hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and black pants.
