Fitchburg police look for 2 men who stole money, cigarettes from gas station

Fitchburg police are looking for two men who broke into a gas station and stole cigarettes and money overnight.

According to a news release, it happened around 3:20 a.m. Officers responded to a burglar alarm at the Capitol Petro gas station located at 2770 South Syene Road.

When they arrived at the store, there was evidence robbers had forced entry and already left, the release said.

Police said two people broke into the store and left with cigarettes and money.

The suspects were described as two black men wearing black sweatshirts and black pants at the time of the robbery. Those suspects are not in custody.

The investigation in ongoing.
