Fitchburg Police Investigating Armed Robbery At Convenience Store

A lone gunman robbed a Fitchburg convenience store on Monday night and police are now looking for the robber.

The incident happened just after 10 p.m. on Monday at the PDQ convenience store in the 5200 block of Williamsburg Way Court. The suspect — described as a black man who appeared to be about 50 years old — displayed a handgun and left with an undisclosed amount of money.

A Madison K-9 unit was called to the area, but was unsuccessful in tracking down the robber.

Police said the robber was wearing a black, white and gray plaid long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans and an aviator/trooper-style hat in the incident.
