Fitchburg police investigate shots fired

Fitchburg police are investigating a report of shots fired following an altercation that took place between two people.

The incident happened in the 1900 block of Pike Drive around 11 p.m. Sunday.

According to police, a dark-colored four-door sedan stopped on Pike Drive, and three people got out of the car before the altercation took place between two of them.

Police said a handgun was displayed and one round was fired. The car was last seen going west on Pike Drive, and one of the passengers was seen leaving the area on foot, according to police. Officers recovered one shell casing at the scene.

Police said all three people inside the car were described as black men with dreadlocks. Police said one of the men wore a white T-shirt with a black vest over the shirt, while another man wore a gray of light-colored shirt with light-colored jeans.

No one was injured in the incident, and no one has been arrested, according to police.
