Fish Hatchery Road reopens following face-lift

Commuters traveling along Fish Hatchery Road near the Beltline will be happy to know that all lanes of the major thoroughfare have reopened again.

Dane County Executive Joe Parisi announced the $3.7million reconstruction project finished on time Friday.

“With Fish Hatchery Road safer and easier to use for those who commute on foot, or by car, bus, or bike, I hope everyone who has traveled this road in the last few months can forgive the dust and delays,” said Parisi.  “This project represents a great partnership to improve our local infrastructure – completed safely, and on schedule.”

The project involved resurfacing the road and improving the aesthetics of the street from Wingra Drive to Emil Street.  A bike lane was also added to the road in the project. The City and Town of Madison worked with the county on the project through cost-sharing partnerships.

All four lanes of the highway should be available to drivers for the evening commute.
