First UW Health workers receive COVID-19 vaccine
MADISON, Wis. — The first of UW Health’s health care workers have received the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine Monday afternoon.
Respiratory therapist Tina Schubert was the first to receive the vaccine at about 2:30 p.m.
UW Health Nurse Mavic Tjardes was the second health care worker to get the shot, while Dr. Ann Sheehy, of UW Health Hospitals, was the third.
The first shipment of the vaccine arrived at UW Health on Monday morning.
Wisconsin will receive nearly 50,000 doses this week.
