First day of high school football practice in Wisconsin
Tuesday was the first day of high school football practice around the state of Wisconsin.
The first games of the regular season are a little over two weeks away.
The Mount Horeb-Barneveld Vikings are facing a year of change as Ryan Kleppe takes over as head coach for Travis Rohrer.
Kleppe, who was a star player at UW-Whitewater, grew up in Mount Horeb and has been an assistant coach for the Vikings, so he’s no stranger to the program.
“I don’t know if you’re completely ready ever, ” Kleppe said.
“You’re always learning – you know teaching, coaching too, it’s always a daily reflective practice of what went well, what didn’t go well, trying things, trial and error and being able to understand what works and what doesn’t and make those adjustments to be able to continue to have success.”
