Firefighter injured in hours-long blaze, residence considered ‘total loss’

TOWN OF BELOIT, Wis. — A firefighter was injured and transported to a hospital early Saturday morning during an hours long battle to stop a residential fire.

According to a news release, firefighters from the town of Beloit, the city of Beloit, Janesville and the town of Turtle responded to Rockvale Mobile Home Park in the 6200 block of South Highway 51 for a residential fire with heavy flames and smoke showing. Additional crews from Footville and Edgerton were eventually requested.

Crews remained on the scene for three and a half hours to extinguish the fire. Officials said the residence was a total loss. Two cats are believed to have died in the blaze.
