Firefighter accused of sexual assault in ambulance
Alleged assault happened July 2011
RACINE, Wis. — A firefighter has been charged in Racine County with sexually assaulting a patient in an ambulance.
A criminal complaint accuses Somers firefighter Jodin Froeber with fondling a 17-year-old girl in the back of the ambulance in July of last year. The girl had suffered a seizure at the Trefoil Oak Program Center.
Authorities say the 37-year-old firefighter was off duty at the time, but responded to the emergency call in his personal vehicle.
The complaint says the teen told investigators she couldn’t open her eyes due to the seizure and the medication she was given.
WITI-TV reports the alleged assault occurred while the girl was being transported to the hospital.
