Fire stops production at candy factory in Janesville, officials say
JANESVILLE, Wis. — No one was injured in fire Wednesday morning at a candy factory in Janesville, officials said.
Janesville fire crews were sent around 11:05 a.m. to Impact Confections at 4017 Whitney Street for reports of a fire in an electrical room with smoke and flames visible, according to a release.
Crews found a small fire burning on the exterior of the building, and extinguished it, officials said.
The fire caused minimal damage to the building, but production at the facility was suspended because the electricity was shut off, according to the release.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, officials said. A damage estimate it not yet available.
