Fire starts in garage; $60,000 in damage

A fire in a garage on Janesville’s far southwest side caused $60,000 in damage, according to the Janesville Fire Department.

Fire crews were called to 2411 Antler Dr. at 12:02 a.m. Tuesday and saw smoke and flames coming from the building when they arrived. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in the garage and keep the fire out of the attic and the rest of the home.

The occupant reported hearing some noise in the garage before finding the fire and calling 911. A truck and a motorcycle were in the garage along with other household items.

The fire caused $40,000 in damage to the contents and $20,000 in damage to the structure.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.
