Shed destroyed, house damaged in Sauk Co. fire Thursday
SAUK COUNTY, Wis. — A shed is considered a total loss and a nearby house suffered exterior damage following a fire in rural Sauk County Thursday night, the Sauk City Fire Department said.
The fire broke out around 6:05 p.m. in the 8900 block of State Highway 60 in the township of Troy about halfway between Sauk City and Spring Green. In a news release, the department said firefighters learned on the way to the scene the shed was fully engulfed in flames.
When they got to the scene, firefighters noticed winds had pushed the fire to the house. They were able to put out the flames on the house before the fire could spread.
The shed and its contents are considered a total loss, while the house suffered exterior damage, the release said. One person was taken to a hospital for observation.
It’s unclear what caused the fire.
