Fire chief to speak at sprinkler summit

Responders revive woman who suffers heart attack at mall

The chief of the Madison fire department is making a push to get more people to install fire sprinklers in their homes.

Fire Chief Steve Davis will be speaking at a daylong summit in Madison Thursday to talk about the benefits of such sprinklers.

Davis plans to explain how installing sprinklers has shown to dramatically reduce the amount of financial loss for people that have installed systems in their home.

The summit will also feature a side-by-side, live fire demonstration of similarly furnished rooms. One will have sprinklers, and one won’t.

The second annual summit happens at the Holiday Inn Madison at the American Center all day Thursday.
