Final Marquette poll on governor’s race due
Last poll showed Walker, Burke tied
MADISON, Wis. — One last Marquette University Law School poll on Wisconsin’s governor’s race is coming out with less than a week before Election Day.
The poll due to be released Wednesday comes two weeks after one showed Gov. Scott Walker and Democratic challenger Mary Burke tied with 47 percent support each. Walker is in the toughest election of his 21-year political career. Burke is a former Trek Bicycles executive and state Commerce Department secretary running her first statewide campaign.
The final week of the campaign has featured a stop by President Barack Obama in Milwaukee for Burke on Tuesday, and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is slated to be with Walker on Friday.
Walker is on the ballot for the third time in four years, having survived a 2012 recall.
