Fennimore man faces 3 charges of sexual assault involving 3 children

Jamie John Childs, 26, of Fennimore, is facing three felony charges of first-degree sexual assault involving a child under 13, according to a criminal complaint filed in Grant County Circuit Court last week.

According to the complaint, the three victims told their parents that Childs had inappropriately touched them while they were at the home of one of Childs’ family members. One incident happened when the children were spending the night on July 11.

The report said the parents of the victims told police inappropriate touching occurred on multiple occasions.

If Childs is convicted, he could face a term of imprisonment that does not exceed 60 years on each charge.

Childs had an initial appearance in the case on Aug. 15, and a cash bond of $2,500 was ordered, according to court records. A preliminary hearing is scheduled at 10 a.m. on Monday.
