Fennimore beats Mineral Point in boys’ baseball
Top-ranked Fennimore High School baseball team defeated sixth-ranked Mineral Point on Thursday, 7-4.
The game in Mineral Point featured two of the best teams in the state competing for first place in their conference. This was the first of two meetings this season for the teams.
In the top of the fourth inning, the Golden Eagles were up 4-1 and kept adding to their lead. Ian Streeter hit one through the right side, which allows Aaron Swan to score.
In the seventh, Fennimore got the always-important insurance runs. Tyler Hunt drove in two runs with a deep shot to center.
In the bottom of the seventh, Mineral Point scored twice and loaded the bases, but Luke Radtke struck out to end it, and the Golden Eagles still haven’t lost a game this year.
